DESCRIPTION:“FORAGING AT THE BEACH!”  We will meet in the parking lot for San Simeon Beach off Hwy 1\, at 10:00 AM.  Cari Curtis\, a local foraging expert\, will help us find and collect materials to use as natural dyes\, embellishments\, and weaving materials. She will share useful information and answer questions as we explore the beach and surrounding areas in search of unique materials. Wear comfortable shoes and bring a bag to collect items. DESCRIPTION:Our February meeting will be an in person meeting held at the Strawbale Barn in Atascadero\, from 10 am to 12pm. \nThis will be a hands-on\, “Pin-Weaving with Beads” program. This technique is perfect for making delightful necklaces and other woven jewelry.  For more info\, click here \nSome supplies will be provided\, but bring the following items if you have them: \n\nA few yards of cotton\, wool or rayon thread in a few coordinating colors – thread about the size of 5/2 or 10/2 cotton works well; as does embroidery floss. Thrums are perfect for this!\nA metal kitchen fork – this will be used as a beater.\nA few medium size beads that work with your thread colors – Optional: a few small decorative bits to be used as “finials”.\nA very small crochet hook – one that will go through the holes in your beads.\nOne or two large\, blunt needles – used to weave with.\nStraight pins – 30 or so should be enough.\nOptional: you may want to have colored pencils in your yarn colors.\n\nDon’t worry if you don’t have everything on the list\, most things can be shared. \nAttendees are encouraged to bring a lunch and stay a while longer to work on your project.  Show & Tell items are always welcome. \nFor more information\, contact Barby Wunsch.

SUMMARY:All Guild Saturday Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Weaving and Fibers Vision Boards \nThis month we will be creating weaving and fibers-related vision boards. This exercise will help us unleash our creativity\, inspire ourselves and others\, and help us get to know each other through our fibers interests! Our meeting(s) will be Zoom meetings. Invitations will be sent to all guild members a few days before each meeting. \nVision boards can be created either online (I recommend Canva) or on an actual board (or a combination of both!) using photos\, sketches\, yarn\, swatches\, words and phrases\, etc… \nEach week I will send out helpful tips and ideas to guide you on this journey. We will be using these boards to answer the following questions: \n\nWhat inspires me in my weaving?\nWhat is a new skill\, technique\, or pattern I’ve always wanted to try or learn?\nWhat am I stuck on or need help with?\nWhat excites me about weaving and fibers?\nWhat do I want to accomplish this year?\n\nFor our meeting at the end of the month\, we will share our vision boards and each have a turn to discuss. This will be a fun way to get to know each other\, help me coordinate activities each month to support your growth\, and provide you with a tangible finished product to hang in your studio or weaving space to keep you inspired all year! SUMMARY:All Guild Thursday Meeting
DESCRIPTION: “THE BIG REVEAL!”  ~ Our meeting will be a hybrid meeting\, in person at the SLO United Methodist Church\, 1515 Fredricks Street and concurrently on Zoom!  All members will be sent an invitation for the Zoom meeting a few days ahead of time.  Members are encouraged to bring items they’ve woven in the last two years for Show and Tell.  We will also have our traditional raffle of fiber-related items and a short business meeting.  Coffee and hot water for tea will be provided and attendees may bring snacks to share. \nIf you plan to attend remotely\, you must send photos for Show & Tell.  If you plan to attend in person\, you may send photos\, but it is not required. Info about yarn\, sett and structure are a plus. DESCRIPTION:27th ANNUAL ALL–GUILD PICNIC & TAG SALE\nThis event takes the place of Thursday and Saturday meetings this month.\n\nOur June all Guild Picnic will take place at Cuesta Park\, at the “Arroyo” site\, in San Luis Obispo (see map below).   Guild Challenge Napkins will be revealed and there will be other Show and Tell\, as well as a Picnic Potluck and a Tag Sale. \nREMEMBER TO BRING: Your Challenge napkins (with some for the exchange)\, picnic fare to share\, your place setting (with napkins) \, lots of stuff for the Tag Sale (clearly labeled with the price and your name)\, your check book or ready cash for any irresistible bargains\, and one or two things for Show & Tell.
