SUMMARY:All Guild Thursday Meeting
DESCRIPTION:ALL GUILD THURSDAY MEETING\, Feburary 9\, 2023.\nOur meeting will be a hybrid meeting\, beginning at 9:45 am.  Members may attend in person at the United Methodist Church at 1515 Fredericks St\, San Luis Obispo or by Zoom.  A Zoom invitation will be sent to all members a few days before the meeting.  Our program “MICHAEL RUDE ON SANDRA RUDE’S WORK” will be presented by Michael Rude.  Sandra Rude was an award-winning weaver and member of Central Coast Weavers.  Mike will share scarves and other pieces from Sandra’s collection. We will also have an in-person raffle\, a short business meeting and member Show and Tell. Members who have a piece woven by Sandra are encouraged to bring them for Show and Tell or submit photos per instructions below.  Members are encouraged to submit photos of their show and tell items to Wendy-Marie ahead of time as it is sometimes difficult to show items in person. SUMMARY:All Guild Saturday Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Our February meeting will be an in person meeting held at the Strawbale Barn in Atascadero\, from 10 am to 12pm. \nThis will be a hands-on\, “Pin-Weaving with Beads” program. This technique is perfect for making delightful necklaces and other woven jewelry.  For more info\, click here \nSome supplies will be provided\, but bring the following items if you have them: \n\nA few yards of cotton\, wool or rayon thread in a few coordinating colors – thread about the size of 5/2 or 10/2 cotton works well; as does embroidery floss. Thrums are perfect for this!\nA metal kitchen fork – this will be used as a beater.\nA few medium size beads that work with your thread colors – Optional: a few small decorative bits to be used as “finials”.\nA very small crochet hook – one that will go through the holes in your beads.\nOne or two large\, blunt needles – used to weave with.\nStraight pins – 30 or so should be enough.\nOptional: you may want to have colored pencils in your yarn colors.\n\nDon’t worry if you don’t have everything on the list\, most things can be shared. \nAttendees are encouraged to bring a lunch and stay a while longer to work on your project.  Show & Tell items are always welcome. \nFor more information\, contact Barby Wunsch.
